Recordings of my music
O Sacrum Convivium
My motets O lux beata Trinitas (2013), Veni Sancte Spiritus (2012) and O sacrum convivium (2012) will be released on a CD entitled O Sacrum Convivium on Vox Regis Records on 27 May. The recording is made by The Chapel Choir of King's College, Aberdeen University (with whom I have a strong working relationship), conducted by David Smith, and features works by Tallis, Stanford and Purcell as well as contemporary pieces. The motets were first performed by the choir.
24/05/16: There is a nice feature on the CD from the local paper, The Press and Journal, here.
23/06/16: There is a nice review of the CD in The Scotsman, it gives the CD 4 stars and refers to my 'Three Mystical Motets'...
07/07/16: A good review from theartsdesk.com praises my 'sublime' and 'austere' motets. It also mentions 'new-age wooziness', but we won't dwell too much on that...
28/09/16: A five star review in Choir & Organ magazine which describes the CD as 'excellently devised', 'very much recommended' and 'an unforgettable experience'. And refers to my motets as '[the] three reflective motets are punctuated by a gentle dissonance, and create the right atmosphere for the whole programme'. Nice.
17/10/16: Another nice review, this time on musicweb-international.com which refers to my works as 'delicate and thoughtful' and 'well-crafted'. Good review all in all.
