I have recently received a little more information on my new commission for the Lake District Summer Music Festival for 2011. The concert will be on Tuesday 09 August at 15.30 in Ambleside Parish Church (tbc). The performers will be the excellent
Clare McCaldin (mezzo-soprano), Yuko Inoue (viola) and
Tadashi Imai (piano). The concert will feature the Brahms
Two Songs alongside other pieces. My work is provisionally titled
Lakesongs and will be settings of Lake-themed poetry by Yeats, Poe, Sitwell and others.
